We are looking for highly motivated candidates to carry out studies focused on characterizing the biocompatibility of nitric-oxide-releasing biomaterials in cultured cells, including endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, fibroblasts, cardiomyocytes, and macrophages derived from human monocytes. These in vitro studies are expected to provide fundamental mechanistic data on the immunomodulatory and regenerative effects of NO in the contexts of ischemia, vascular remodeling, and endothelial regeneration.
This position is available as part of a 5-year FAPESP-funded thematic project entitled “Nitric-oxide-releasing hydrogels and vascular prostheses for cardiovascular applications.”
Qualifications include a PhD in Biology, Physiology, or Medicine from a recognized institution, with strong preference for prior experience in Cell Biology, Histology, and Biochemistry, demonstrated by a solid publication record.
The fellowship includes a tax-free monthly payment of R$ 12,570.00 (about US$ 2,351.83) for two years (with the possibility of renewal), an Installation Allowance, and a Research Technical Reserve (10% of the annual value of the fellowship) to cover research costs, such as participation in project-related conferences.
Applicants should email Prof. Marcelo G. de Oliveira (mgo@unicamp.br) by November 17, 2025, with the subject “Biomaterials Project-FAPESP,” attaching a motivation letter highlighting previous experience relevant to the project, a Curriculum Vitae, and two letters of recommendation.
